SpamX v4.0

IMPORTANT NOTES:

SpamX v4.0 requires Java version 1.5, minimum - See System Requirements for more detailed instructions.

Windows Instructions:

After downloading, double-click Install_SpamX.exe

Notes

The installer will display a list of Java VMs found on the system. Be sure to select a Java VM with a version number 1.5 or greater.
If there is no Java VM v1.5 or greater on your system, go to java.sun.com to get one.

Mac OS X Instructions:

Install Instructions

After downloading, double-click SpamX_Install.dmg
Once the disk mounts, drag the SpamX folder to the Applications folder.

Update Instructions

After downloading, double-click SpamX_Update.dmg
Drag the SpamX application to the SpamX folder.

Notes

Requires Mac OS X 10.2.8 or later running Java version 1.5 or higher

Instructions (Unix or Unix-like operating systems)

For Java 2, after downloading, type
java -jar Install_SpamX.jar
If that does not work, try
java -classpath [path to]classes.zip:Install_SpamX.jar install
If that does not work either, on sh-like shells, try
  cd [to directory where Install_SpamX.jar is located]
  CLASSPATH=Install_SpamX.jar
  export CLASSPATH
  java install
Or for csh-like shells, try
  cd [to directory where Install_SpamX.jar is located]
  setenv CLASSPATH Install_SpamX.jar
  java install

Instructions (for other platforms)

Be sure you have Java 1.5 or later installed. You can download Java from Sun's site
In a console window, change to the directory where you downloaded Install_SpamX.jar to before running the installer
Your operating system may invoke Java in a different way. To start the installer, add Install_SpamX.jar to your CLASSPATH, then start the main class of the installer named install
